TopBuzz Review: Is it Legit or Scam?

To give a little bit of a history, TopBuzz creator is Bytedance, Inc., a Chinese partnership company founded by ZHANG Yiming on 2012 that specializes on machine learning, data mining and DDN. TopBuzz is actually the overseas version of "Toutiao" (which means “headline” in Chinese) App.

So if you are wondering and have been searching if TopBuzz is legit or a scam but haven't actually found a concrete answer... then by this time, you would probably find out... YES, it's legit, NO - it's not a scam.

To give you proof, here's a timeline of how I started TopBuzz until I got my first paycheck of $453.93 paid via PayPal for my first 45 days contributing reblogged articles and public videos in TopBuzz.

October 18, 2017: As a YouTuber, I received an email from TopBuzz inviting me to join the platform.

So after some hesitation, I said to myself, why not? So I open an account initially naming it, FinanceBoards (name of the company I previously worked in), reposting all our blog articles to TopBuzz.

In making my account I connected, my personal FaceBook account then connected an email later so I can disconnect my FB anytime.

November 16, 2017: After some not-so-viral video and article posts(less than 10k views), I finally had my first break, 71,125 read/views. That is $71.13 in just a day. Then the next day, it was followed with 51,970 views. So in just 2 days, I got $123 in 2 days! Not bad, compared to my Adsense account  which I just average $100/year.

November 16, 2017
Days went by, I got some rejected articles and videos. TopBuzz is quite strict with implementing rules and policies. So you should be careful in posting because not only it will reject the posts but will deduct the number of views it had on the rejected post. For example, if you have, 30k views in that post before it was rejected, then you will have a deduction of $30 - ouch! that's a lot to take.

Sample of a rejected post. It had 2k views and 15 comments
before it got rejected

In my experience, TopBuzz might reject posts(but not all the time) that are:

1. sexual in nature
2. violent
3. hateful

Although you might notice, that some account have posted much more aggressive posts... I believe time will tell and sooner or later they would be banned.

November 20, 2017: I set up my "Earnings setting". There are 2 ways to receive payments from them. Either sent to PayPal or directly to your bank. But I would prefer PayPal and it's recommended by TopBuzz also.

November 20, 2017

By the end of November, I had more than 450k views already. So I was ready to withdraw my earnings...

Take note:

- You can only withdraw when your earnings reach $100 and when it's the 2nd-6th day of the month.

December 2, 2017: I withdraw my earnings sent to PayPal.

December 2, 2017: The earnings of the month is my remaining balance after the withdrawal

Take note:

- transferring of funds will take up to 20 days but in my case, it took only 14 days.

December 16, 2017: I received PayPal notification that TopBuzz sent me my first paycheck.
